History

Richard James Lamb was born and raised in South Bend, Indiana. He grew up playing both golf and hockey but chose to attend IMG Academies, a preparatory boarding school and sports destination in Bradenton, Florida, to pursue golf. 

He played college golf at the University of Tennessee, after transferring from Santa Clara University. In his final collegiate event, Lamb finished T-2 at the 2013 NCAA Division Championship.

He won the LECOM Health Challenge in 2016, joined the PGA tour in 2017, and scored a T46 in the U.S. Open in 2021. 

Rick and his wife, Emily, have a new baby girl, and his twin brother, Scott currently plays on the PGA Tour Latinoamerica.

Rick joined the Clover Crew in 2024, and proudly sports our headwear at every golf tournament. HIs favorite hats include the Premium Clover series, particularly, Premium Clover 1, Premium Clover 6, Premium Clover 126, and the Jimmy

Q&A

What do you consider your greatest achievement and why?

My greatest accomplishment would be starting a family with my wife Emily. We have an 8 month old girl, Mary Charles and she has given us more joy than we could have ever imagined and we can’t wait to grow our family and give her a sibling or two.

What was your greatest setback, and how did you overcome it?

In 2023 I suffered an injury and that has probably been the biggest professional setback I have had. I was hit in the head by another competitors tee shot during a tournament. I suffered a concussion and had lingering side effects for 8/9 months and took a medical leave from the tour for a majority of last season. It has given me great perspective on golf and I’m still working to get back on track with my game and get back to the PGA tour.

How do you "Live Lucky?"

I Live Lucky by wearing my Black Clover hat whenever I play golf. Anybody who plays will take all the luck they can get! I try to put in the work on parts of my game that will set me up for success and having positive attitude on the course hoping for a lucky break every time I tee it up. I have my “lucky” ball marker with my daughters initials that I use as well. And I definitely know how lucky I am to get to pay golf for a living.
