A Q&A with Kyle Reifers

A Q&A with Kyle Reifers

Black Clover PGA Staff Player Kyle Reifers is currently deep in the middle of the 2017 PGA Tour. He’s traveling to golf courses all over the country, and even outside of it in some cases, facing off against his fellow pro golfers in the race to the championship. In the midst of all that, he took some time to sit down and answer a few questions from us for Black Clover. Here is a quick Q&A with pro golfer Kyle Reifers.

We started off talking about golf, Kyle’s career, and his approach to the game.

BC: Golf seems to run in your family. What has golf meant to you as you grew up and have played professionally?

KR: Obviously it’s been a big part of my life.  I was able to go to a great university and get a great education because of it and now I’ve been able to make a great living playing a game I love. I couldn’t be more grateful for the game of golf.

BC: You travel all around the country on the PGA tour every year. What's your favorite course/area?

KR: Memorial has always been a stop I’ve looked forward to. I grew up caddying there and used to ride my bike to the course and sit in the caddy shack. It’s really a special tournament to come back and play. I get to see all my friends and family, and I just love Columbus, Ohio.

BC:What’s your biggest challenge when you participate in tournaments?

KR:Being away from family and friends so much.

BC: What does it take to be a great golfer?

KR: It takes a great deal of drive, patience, talent and a good support system.

BC:How do you prep for a tournament?

KR: Cryotherapy, which is something different from what a lot of other guys do on tour. It allows me to recover faster.

BC:How do you wind down from a tournament?

KR: I spend a lot of time trying to educate myself on cars, which are a huge passion for me.

Then we moved on from “Who is Kyle Reifers, the golfer?” to “Who is Kyle Reifers, the man?

BC: If you weren’t golfing, what would you love to be doing?

KR: I think I could really excel in some sort of sales role.

BC: What’s the coolest thing that you‘ve gotten to do as a result of your career?

KR: Probably after winning the Walker Cup, when we got to go to the Oval office and spend an hour and half with George W Bush.

BC: What’s something people may not know about you?

KR: I like all different types of music including Fetty Wap.

BC: What does a typical day look like for a pro golfer?

KR: I normally get to the course a couple hours before my tee time to get stretched, adjusted, eat, warm up, then play, dinner, and bed.
